I'm in love with a bag that doesn't exist.

Source
Isn't this the most luscious shade of pink?

Source
Unfortunately the Chloe Paraty in Rosewood is a much darker shade in real life.

Source
The Chloe Elsie is a nice piece of work too. I love light-coloured bags especially pink and cream but my practical side wins every time.

Except today I succumbed to this Rebecca Minkoff satchel in Peach Nude online. I hope the real bag doesn't deviate from the pic.
Ha, got you with that title huh? The trick to not shopping is not going out, not browsing online and not reading forums. Now, if only I can remember that.

i love the vintage needlepoint feel of my new tights.
Retailers are offering huge discounts to get you to dig into your pockets. It's really difficult to resist the SALE SALE SALE signs EVERYwhere. For people with spare change, you are in luck. We are not one of them but I do need winter clothes which gives me the excuse to shop. ;) I try to focus on winter stuff though it's hard not to stray sometimes...

My track record. 50% winter stuff, not bad right? All of them were discounted at 50% and more, great deals! Best buy is the Marciano purple top for $21.

Okies, no more wandering eye after this. Just have to make do with what I have... unless they are $30 and below which doesn't count.

After endless searching and polls, I finally got my black staple. Initially I went with Bag B and was surfing the web for the best deal. Which was how I came across my new bag and fell IN LOVE!

Sold me on the clasp.

Love the bolt-like details.

It was on sale so I snapped it up. The bag totally exceeded my expectations! The leather is sumptuous and I love its magnetic closure. So much easier than zips and flaps! The doctor bag frame gives it a polished look and it holds a ton! Only drawback is that the bag isn't very light but I can handle that. <3

Lin was here for a business trip and decided to take leave for our taitai get-together.

In between exploring Alcatraz, shopping in San Francisco, dining at one star restaurants, getting drunk on Napa, seeing Ivana Trump at Beverly Hills Hotel, gazing the stars at LA Observatory and eating the best damn ramen in LA, something happened. K & I hit a milestone in our lives, particularly mine. Details later.

Lin was the official photographer so it will take a while to get the pics and post them here. Meantime, I shall regale you with my colourful new stuff.

I was over Coach but won't this sunny orange patent wristlet change your mind?

Square sunglasses. I love the subtle brown stripey pattern.

This was the real surprise! A cute flirty sunglass case! Stupid Blogger can't load correctly.

Blue and turquoise satin flats. I used to hate flats cos short people like me need extra height. But where I live, stilettos won't cut it. Imagine tottering in heels, while walking up and down hills. Rhymes. -_-

I bought these for cold windy Alcatraz. Good thing we went in summer. I don't know how people actually live there. Love that these soft slouchy boots can be worn 3 ways.

Wedding gift from Lin. Have been meaning to get myself a classic pearl necklace. Thanks dear.

Cookbooks from Lea. She gave me 2 when I came over last year. And they boosted my non-existent cooking skills tremendously. When I mentioned it to her, she offered to buy and ship me more. But I didn't want her to go through all that trouble. The thoughtful girl remembered and bought these to tongbang with Lin. Muacks! Hugs to Lin for bringing them here. Not to mention, the masks, kaya and bridal mag too.

correction on New bag entry. new pics added.
Do you know that feeling of waiting eagerly for something? The first thing that pops into your head when you wake up is whether it has arrived. Of the disappointment when it has not. That was me the last 2 weeks. Till one day the parcel finally landed at my doorstep!

My new sandals just in time for summer!

I can't resist a good bargain (74% off!) especially when it looks this beautiful. Adore the shopping selections here plus time on my hands allows me to suss out designer deals.

I promise to be a good girl and stop any further shopping. MUST save money for wedding. With the exception of a black bag of course. But that's for daily use and shall not be classified under reckless spending. ^_^

Thanks K!
I prefer 'tougher' bags so out of all the black bags, my heart beat a little faster for Foley + Corinna Jet Setter Jr bag. That is until I discovered that this bag is HUUUGE. Perfect for students or those who have to lug laptops but not for me.

Source

Interesting fact, the Jet Setter Jr was featured on Gossip Girls!

Through my diligent research, I also found out that Foley + Corinna was having a massive sale (Up to 70% off!). So I decided to disregard the picture and check it out for myself. Alas, the bag is really HUUUGE. K says I look like I'm carrying a shopping bag. :p As I was about to leave the store, another bag caught my eye...

City Tote in Sandstone Disco White

It is super versatile! You can carry it 4 ways - as a shoulder bag, a sling bag, a clutch or slung across the body. Though it will make a pretty big clutch. The sweetest thing was the price. Instead of the usual $485 price tag, I snagged it for $150! Thanks K for the pressie!

Glad I found a chio girl carrying this bag to show you how it looks like. She is Rumi and I adore her fashion blog. My next choice for a black bag would be Marc Jacobs' Dr Q and Gerard Darel, only they aren't sold in stores and I didn't find pictures of people carrying them. My search for the perfect black bag continues...

I love my new aviators. All the aviators I have tried always looked too big on my face or were too cheap and flimsy.

Recently, I walked past the discount section in a store that sells nicely-designed casual clothes that are way overpriced. And decided to have some fun trying on bugeye sunglasses. Amidst the big colourful shades, I spotted and fished out this pair of aviators. Past experience tells me it won't look good plus there was no mirror to help change my mind. But my ever-reliable fashion mirror, Kelly, persuaded me to get it. Even bought it for me.

I love it to bits. And just in time for summer.

Art Deco clutch from Nine West

Somehow over our nightly phone conversations, K sensed that I was feeling low. So he came home last week with a surprise. It's the Marc Jacobs case that I blogged about!! *squeals* So K does read my blog. Brownie points to him! *feeling loved*

My jewellery thanks him too. Now they don't need to squeeze together in a tiny travel bag.

thanks for affirming my choice. i debated for the longest time between this red bag and a beige clutch. thought i could get a 2nd opinion from the owner but it was the predictable 'hmmm, they both look good.' oh well.

now i am so in love with such vintagey bags, i just might get the beige clutch too. kinda defeats the purpose of all that deliberation huh. anyway. new top! midriff baring AND floral, quite a combination hor. but midriff baring goes well with all the high waist jeans/pants that are in. don't have those but i do have a high waist mini paired with the top here.

i hate tiny florals cos i think they look so granny. but this cropped top looks like nothing ah ma (granny) would wear.

cos i like.
been browsing many streetstyle blogs and inspired, i stepped into a local vintage store today. i didn't leave empty-handed.

my first vintage bag! i love love love the fire engine red and pleating details. was also pleasantly surprised to find a tag that says "Genuine Eel Skin". oh wow, my first exotic skin bag!

i know i'm gushing but the bag is so versatile. use as a shoulder bag or clutch. see those red shoes? got them at the store too. am broke now, no more shopping for this month.

got this bangle some time ago. the paint brush strokes on this is very in this season. cheap cheap $8.90

just cos my legs look long here.

I'm soooo excited about Spring because the weather's getting warmer and I get to wear itsy bitsy bright clothing!

Got me this pink belt with a rose buckle for $18. Cute hor? Flowers are in for Spring!

and this cool necklace from Forever21. Can't remember how much, definitely less than $20.

I found this pair of rosette earrings from Forever21. They match the belt but it would be OTT to put both together. $6
I like this pearl strand with a camellia pendant. $11.50

I would never ever buy from Forever21 Singapore. Prices are just ridiculously high and it's not worth it for the quality. Time to do some cheap shopping for Spring!
